The Ambler String Quartet is a group of string players who live outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, near the town of Ambler. The string players in the quartet have decades of experience in playing in front of audiences. Most of the members of the quartet play regulary in the Ambler Symphony, which plays several concerts a year in the Ambler area. |

Bruce Fenderson studied the violin with Roberta Worrell and Howard Evensen in Minneapolis. His musical experiences include the University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra and The Johns Hopkins University String Ensemble. For the past eight years he has played with the Ambler Symphony and served as a member of the Ambler Symphony Board of Directors. Jeanette Telese studied violin at the New School of Music in Philadelphia and Boston University School of Fine Arts. Her teachers were Paul Windt (Curtis Institute), Gerald Gelbloom (Boston Symphony), and Joseph Silverstein (Tanglewood Institute). Her musical experiences include the Bucks County Symphony, Boston University Symphony, and Ambler Symphony. She has played under the direction of Seiji Ozawa, Leonard Bernstein, and Sir Neville Marriner, and appeared in a quartet performance at the Tanglewood Summer Music Festival. Her recordings include a track on a CD by Steve Cohen ("I Must Have Been Crazy"). Jeanette is a member of the Ambler Symphony Board of Directors. Shaun McWeeney has been playing the viola for over 18 years. His experiences include the Lehigh University Symphony Orchestra, the Ambler Symphony, and the Olney Symphony. Kevin Riley studied the violin with Zoltan Latinovich and Peter Synesvedt. His musical experiences include the Mount Mercy College Symphonetta, the Canonsburg Symphony, and the Delaware County Community College Orchestra. He has been a member of the Ambler Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years. Lois Meighan studied cello with a Margaretta Kennedy of Harrisburg, PA, and then with Alan Collins at Wooster, OH. Her musical experiences include playing with The Harrisburg Symphony, Harrisburg Youth Orchestra, The College of Wooster's Orchestra, Brown University's Symphony, Ambler Symphony, North Penn Symphony and The Providence Chamber Orchestra of Phoenixville, PA. She has also played in various trios, quartets and ensembles. Stacey Feuer is a trained violinist in both the Suzuki and the traditional method. Her teachers were Nancy Terlaak-Poot and Robert Taylor. She has performed with the Delaware Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Pennsylvania State University Symphony Orchestra. She is currently a member of the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia and the Ambler Symphony Orchestra. She has also served on the Ambler Symphony's Board of Directors for the past two years. |
